Pipe Cutting & Beveling Clamshells

An innovative product which has become an industry standard, Hydratight DL Ricci’s Clamshells are the best pipe cutting and pipe beveling machines in the market today.

From the mini to the HD, our severing and beveling Clamshells have patented bearing technology and are easy to setup and operate.

These tools cover a vast range of pipe sizes from ½” to 177” and are capable of severing, beveling, facing, boring and OD turning on all types of material and wall thickness. A variety of clamshell accessories are available to enhance the performance and expand the capability of our clamshell line.

Boring Bars

We offer three models of portable boring bars for a variety of applications. The QD Bore Bar, the Portable Boring Bar and the Pedestal Boring Bar all offer ease of set-up for align and blind boring.

Their flexible set-up options allow efficient access to set up virtually anywhere. Offering high power to weight performance these powerful and portable boring bars are ready to tackle your most difficult boring problems with smooth and trouble free cutting.

Milling Machines

QuickFace makes refacing easy
Every day we're presented with hundreds of situations where flanges that need to be refaced are in awkward or even dangerous locations. Pipes can be located at the top of a refinery installation or miles away from the nearest power line, without room to move.

Now for the first time ever, engineers can rely on all the accuracy and performance of  bigger air and electric powered tools in a lightweight and extremely portable format. A simple and cost effective solution with hi-tech design, QuickFace turns a two man operation with heavy equipment, compressors and portable generators into a one man job.

Light on weight, not on features
The QuickFace tool itself weighs only 6.8kg (15lbs), which means it's easy to carry, yet can still reface flange surfaces on pipes from 25.4mm (1in) up to 102mm (4in) with ease. As you'd expect from Hydratight, pared down weight means no loss of performance. The system has interchangeable lead screws that make it suitable for resurfacing damaged raised-face or lens-ring joint flanges to the high safety standards required.
Plus QuickFace operation couldn't be simpler; after selecting the correct lead screw for the operation, the tool body is inserted in the pipe end and centres itself with adjustable locators to provide truly concentric operation.

The tool arm is then rotated by hand using a worm-gear mechanism to provide a perfect spiral "gramophone" finish. The tool can be adjusted with a calibrated slide to define cut depth and the correct finish.

Grinding Machines

These machines provides a variety of portable grinding machines.  The Oval Manway Seat Grinder restores corroded, pitted, abraded and leaking manway gasket seat surfaces.  The Hand Hole Grinder works to repair exisitng, worn and leaking hand hole surfaces.  The Tire Grinder is designed for in-place repair of worn or damaged rotary kiln tires, paper dryer tires, printing tires and more.  The Trunnion Grinder (right) provides portable and flexible grinding for trunnions and other large rollers

Shaft Machining

The new MS-JTL combines the best features from our patented Midsize (MS) Clamshell and the field-proven and patented journal turning lathe (JTL) to give a precision machining tool that performs accurate and consistent machining of bearing journals and other round surfaces.

Designed for larger diameter shaft refurbishment (8" to 26") the MS-JTL has two feed screws for parallel motion. This results in smoother journal turning and more accuracy. The lightweight design and fully adjustable locators means easy setup of this shaft refurbishment machine.

The unique split frame design of the MS-JTL allows it to clamp over the existing shaft, enhancing setup options. The MS-JTL can be positioned in tight onsite machining areas that need precision machining with minimal operating clearance required.

A two-speed gearbox driven by an electric servo allows for fast setup and smooth surface finishes. Accurate cutting tolerances and exacting surface finishes are achieved through the rigid bearing system and the rugged design of this precision machining system.

This hybrid portable lathe machine can be powered by Hydraulic, Pneumatic or Electric power and comes complete with everything you’ll need to turn shafts for almost any OD turning application.

The model offers unsurpassed milling and threading on a portable CNC machine.  comes ready to work all enclosed in a gang box consisting of three main assemblies: the power cabinet, 3D Mill, CNC Control Unit and a variety of accessories.

More than the sum of its parts, this represents a new concept in on-site machining; this model offers a compact footprint and ease and speed of set-up for the consistent and efficient repair of large bore threads and other in-situ milling projects.

Helping customers around the globe eliminate expensive dis-assembly costs, this model  offers these operational features: a stable and repeatable cut with minimum heat generation, hands free guarded cutting for maximum safety, no complex CNC programming required with preloaded thread milling and boring programs that can easily change bore diameters, depths and applications, it also offers innovative quick cut technology and low maintenance costs, plus the power to cut most metals, corrosion and impurities with speed and ease.  It offers a range of ¾" to 8 ¾" bore diameter and a 12" depth.
